VINTAGE CHEESES UNVEILED
Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA), Tillamook, OR, has released Tillamook Maker’s Reserve 2013 and 2020 vintages. The first taste of Maker’s Reserve 2013 gives hints of sweet cream and rich buttery brioche, while savory notes of toasted nuts help round out the flavor. The Maker’s Reserve 2020 brings an herbaceous, rich creamy aroma that gives way to notes of woodsy wild mushrooms and crispy dark bread.
MODERN CRACKER PACKAGING
Venus Wafers, Hingham, MA, announced a brand refresh for CäPeachio’s Crackers as well as two new flavors. The brand refresh includes all-new photography of the elegantly simple crackers with new toppings. CäPeachio’s old-world-style crackers are all-natural, vegan, non-GMO and kosher. Ancient Grains features a blend of sesame seeds, chives, minced garlic and onion, while the Classic Goldens offers a round, lightly salty cracker for all occasions.

Somerdale International, UK, recently unveiled its 2023 plans. A further ramping up of its annual St. Patricks Day promotional activity focused on the Claddagh Bó range of quintessential Irish cheese. The range comprises the iconic Original Claddagh Bó Irish Cheddar waxed in the tricolor of the Irish flag, Claddagh Bó Irish Whiskey Cheddar and Claddagh Bó Irish Porter Cheddar. Somerdale’s new improved Cooper’s Hill recipe combines the creamy texture and rounded taste of a traditional British Double Gloucester with the tang of Chives and Onions.
LAKEVIEW FARMS WINS DESIGN AWARD
Lakeview Farms, LLC, Delphos, OH, has won the Designalytics Effectiveness Award for the pack-age re-design of its La Mexicana line. The Designalytics Effectiveness Awards recognize package rede-signs that have been instrumental in driving brand growth. The rooster logo became a focal point of the design. The brand increased the size of the bird, added some vibrant color and placed it at the center of the package. The brand name curved around the logo, and the team experimented with type-faces to capture the spirit of a farm market in Mexico
