Q. How has your career evolved over the years?
A. I started my career in public relations and never thought I would leave that field. But, 11 years ago I decided to take a step back to focus on my growing family and joined Giant Eagle as an administrative assistant. I quickly moved to merchandising, and I never looked back! I’ve held numerous roles on the deli team before taking on the role of senior director.

Q. What positions have you held in industry associations?
A. IDDBA Champion of Change 2021; Member of our Giant Eagle Woman’s Business Resource Group; United Way Woman’s Leadership Council.

Q. What is your leadership philosophy?
A. Be the type of leader that you want for yourself.

Q. What is the best advice you ever received and why?
A. Change is inevitable. Do not get stuck in old ways. Stay focused on what’s ahead with an open mind and a positive attitude. Being able to adapt to change is critical in our industry.


Q. How do you balance your work and personal life?
A. This is a constant battle. I am fortunate to have a great support system. My husband is very hands on, and we pick up each other’s slack when needed!

Q. What deli retail trends have impacted the industry most over the last year?
A. Consumers continue to want convenient, better-for-you snacks and entertaining solutions.

Q. What technology or technical tools are indispensable to you in the workplace and why?
A. Microsoft Teams and the ability to access almost everything you need on your cell phone. I can work from literally anywhere!

Q. What have been the biggest changes in the deli industry over the course of your career?
A. The shift to grab-and-go deli.

Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome on the job?
A. COVID, supply chain constraints and inflation.


Q. What hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
A. My kids keep me very busy! I love watching them play sports and spending time with friends and family.

Q. Are you married? If so, how long? How many children?
A. Yes, I have been married for almost 13 years. We have an eight-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter.
