Central Point, OR – Rogue Creamery is delighted to announce that its 2025 vintage of Rogue River Blue cheese is now available.

Every fall, cheese lovers around the world eagerly anticipate the autumnal return of Rogue River Blue – an event celebrated each year on the Fall Equinox. This cheese is the Southern Oregon artisan cheesemaker’s seasonal specialty, with flavors that reflect the unique terroir of its region. Considered an American Original recipe by the American Cheese Society, Rogue River Blue cheese remains the first and only USA-made cheese to be crowned World Champion at the World Cheese Awards, receiving this highest honor in Bergamo, Italy in 2019.

“Rogue River Blue is more than a cheese: it conveys a sense of place,” shared Marguerite Merritt, senior brand manager of Rogue Creamery. “It speaks to the landscape, the cows, and the passionate cheesemakers that – all together – make this iconic cheese possible each year.”

When autumn’s cooler temperatures and rains bring renewed growth to pastures in Oregon’s Rogue River Valley, the organic cow’s milk used to make this cheese becomes richer, more flavorful, and higher in butterfat. This is when Rogue Creamery begins filling its vats to create Rogue River Blue. After aging for 9 to 11 months, the wheels are hand-wrapped in biodynamically-grown grape leaves from nearby Troon Vineyard that have been soaked in pear liqueur. Nearly a year after their creation, the wheels are released to be savored by connoisseurs across the United States and in over a dozen countries worldwide.

In its early release, the profile is bright, savory, and delicately fruity. As the cheese matures, its texture becomes creamier and its flavors deepen into notes of pear brandy, fig, and umami richness. A fully-matured wedge of Rogue River Blue boasts a texture like softened butter, accented by the subtle crunch of Tyrosine crystals that develop with time.

Rogue River Blue will soon be available in upscale groceries, specialty cheese shops, and cheese counters nationwide. It can also be purchased online throughout the fall and winter months at RogueCreamery.com.
