Five ‘golden rules’ to create the perfect European cheese board: Will you join the challenge?

Want to impress at your next meeting with a cheese board that’s pure sophistication? The Cheestories (www.cheestories.eu) campaign has programmed a new edition of the Cheese Board Challenge, designed to bring European cheese culture closer to the American table.

During November and December, coinciding with Thanksgiving first and with the Christmas holidays later, renowned food influencers in the U.S. share their creative proposals to prepare the perfect cheese board. The result? Almost half a million impressions on social networks, only during the first month of the challenge, and thousands of consumers inspired to discover the history, quality and authenticity behind each European cheese of Spanish origin.

The secret to success? What are the keys to success? Influencers share their five golden rules to transform a board into a gourmet experience, thanks to the rich and varied offer of European cheeses as the main exceptional protagonists. Its secrets, exposed, namely:

  1. Diversity, above all. It includes at least three varieties of European cheeses with different textures and flavors. Combine cow, goat and sheep cheeses for balance and surprise.
  1. Tell a story. Each European cheese has a unique origin and centuries of tradition. Knowing its history enriches the experience and turns your board into a cultural journey.
  1. Perfect temperature. Serve the cheeses at room temperature so that they display all their aroma and flavor. A detail that makes all the difference!
  1. Careful presentation. Cut the cheeses into bite-sized portions and order them from mildest to most intense. Use different knives to avoid mixing flavors.
  1. Stylish accompaniments. Quince, olives, grapes, nuts and rustic bread are perfect allies to enhance the European essence. Add a personal touch with seasonal fruits.

Behind every European cheese there is a story that begins in unique landscapes: humid caves in northern Spain, islands bathed by the Mediterranean or legendary lands protected by castles. More than 150 varieties, with 27 Protected Designations of Origin and 4 Geographical Indications, are waiting to conquer your palate: Manchego, Cabrales, Idiazabal, Mahón, Torta del Casar, Roncal, Murcia al vino… and many more!

Cheeses with a centuries-old tradition; with a story in which the landscape becomes another protagonist; where nature and a unique biodiversity coexist in harmony.

An inspiring, creative, exciting story… This is the history of European cheeses, of Spanish origin. Or, in other words, the #Cheestories!
