Expanding the Landscape of Cheese Education: Global Insights & Collaborative Opportunities

Now is the time to explore how cheese education is evolving, both in the U.S. and abroad. In this timely session at the ACS Conference, attendees will discover innovative training models that complement existing ACS programs like the CCP and CCSE certifications, the UK’s Academy of Cheese tiered programme and more.

This session invites attendees to explore how other educational models, both in the U.S. and internationally, can complement and enhance the existing infrastructure of professional development. Panelists representing diverse training programs will share their expertise, many of which are available to ACS members but may not be widely known within the community.

The discussion will highlight the strengths and limitations of various delivery formats (e.g., online, in-person, experiential), explore areas of overlap and distinction between programmes, and examine how these initiatives can align with industry certifications, including those offered by ACS. Panelists will also consider how international programs, such as the French CQP or the UK’s Academy of Cheese Level Two, relate to ACS credentials.

This session aims to increase awareness of educational opportunities, foster potential collaborations, and encourage the development of a more robust, equitable, and accessible framework for industry-wide professional growth. It is particularly valuable for those pursuing certification, cheese educators, and any stakeholders invested in building a more knowledgeable and skilled cheese workforce.
